This is a place to add bird related images if you

• Need help identifying a species
• Need confirmation of a sighting
• Need to display an image for discussion on an email list
• Want to add to the identification resources

Pages for identification

Go to one of these pages to add images for questions about identification or to comment on an identification.

Use One-time identification to add images and questions. After a reasonable time the image will either be removed or used elsewhere for bird identification purposes.

Use Bird identification resources to add images you want to donate to the site and think they will be useful to others for identification species.

Remember any images submitted are placed under the GNU Free Doc License as described on the link at the bottom of the pages. You still own the images and can do whatever else you want with them. They must be either your images or images that are not under any incompatible license or copyright.

To add an image

• Go to the Special:Upload page
• Click the "Browse" button
• Select your image
• Click the "Upload file" button.
• Go to the page where you want to add the image
• Click the edit tab
• Enter

  [[Image:imagename]]

  where imagename is the name given when you uploaded it.
• Add any other text as desired
• Optionally click the "Show preview" button and re-edit if necessary
• Click the "Save page" button.

To create a new page

You may want to place your images on a separate page. If so then pick a page name and follow the instructions below. Avoid bird names for pages because they are probably already used.

• Go to the page where you want to add the link to your new page
• Edit the page by selecting the "edit" tab
• Add

  [[Your page name]]

  and whatever other text
  • Alternatively you can use this

    [[Your page name|Displayed text for page]]

• Optionally click the "Show preview" button and re-edit if necessary
• Click the "Save page" button.
