Regional Information
Range, Abundance, and Seasonal Variations
Buff-bellied Hummingbirds are widely distributed and easily seen in the summer, but they are in lower numbers in the winter. The best places to look for them are areas with feeders in native brushlands but those familiar with their calls will find them in dense brush as well. Try Valley Nature Center or Frontera Audubon Center, although Santa Ana NWR can be good for them as well.
