Bird Guide Navigation & Lists

The main page and the navigation menu lead to area bird guides and lists, category index pages and other topics.

Issues

  • Taxonomy Used
    • The World Bird List currently uses the order that Wikipedia uses which is from the Handbook of Birds of the World (HBW) with some input from the Handbook of Australian, New Zealand and Antarctic Birds (HANZAB)
    • The North American List is somewhat close to the Clements taxanomic order.
    • There definitly plenty of errors so the lists need to be reviewed and edited.

This site is not tied to any one taxonomic system. Several different family lists can be used to access the core bird guide pages. In addition to HANZAB there could be another with Sibley-Monroe Taxonomy. See Handling Regional Information for more information on how the lists are set up.
