Update recent sightings for a region
The recent sightings pages are listed here.
Create a new Regional Guide
If you have a special interest in an area and would like a place to record localized information on each species or general birding information about the area then you might want to start a new regional guide. Enter the guide name on the Bird Guides by Region page and create a family list page and a page for each family that occurs in the region. Then you can create the species pages by including a common bird page as the example below for the Common Loon. If you have your own range map for the area you might include the species content page (the one with the scientific name for the page name) and pass your own range map instead as is done in the comment below.

<!-- Add whatever parameters will be needed for conversion to region specific names -->

Donate some field-guide-like images
Even if you don't want to edit pages but have some images that would be good for identification and wouldn't mind donating them then use the Upload menu (It may be under "Special pages") on the left to add the images. Also images for bird topography are needed. Many of the existing images could be replaced by images that would be better for identification purposes and some species need more than a single image for identification of different plumages.
Add general content to the species accounts
There are many species account pages that have the basic format created but need the information filled in. Some steps are listed here.
Create new species pages
This has been done for most North American species but still needs to be done for species of other regions. Create a page for a new bird lists the steps to do this.
